Classes FAQ
Why Should I Take the Course?
The Barnard Bartending Agency Class prepares students to bartend throughout the New York City area as trained Barnard Bartenders. The 5-week course teaches students all essential mixology and partyhelping information.
Who Can Take It?
The Barnard Bartending Class is open to anyone who wishes to take it.
However, if you are not a member of the Columbia University community, you MUST have a reference from someone who is.
Positions in the Barnard Bartending Agency are offered to Barnard students only. Must be 18 or older.
What Happens If I Pass the Exam?
All enrolled Barnard students who pass the test given at the end of the five-week course are offered a position in the Barnard Bartending Agency.
All non-Barnard students (and any Barnard students who request it) who pass the test receive a certificate of completion and/or recommendations, which will aid them in getting a job at a bar, restaurant, or catering agency.
We do NOT guarantee job placement, nor do we award a New York State Bartender's license.
When Is It Offered?
The Spring 2010 class will be on Tuesdays at 8pm starting February 2nd in 202 Altschul. The final exam will be March 2nd.
Students who have already completed the course may take the exam for $50.
How Much Does It Cost?
The price of the class is $120, check or cash, payable on the first day of class.
We do not accept payment via credit card.
