Working with Barnard Bartending Agency is a pleasure. The women are always bright, prompt and helpful. They are gracious servers and wonderful helpers in pre-party prep, party-time serving and clean-up. We would recommend them highly for any occasion. ~Anna Oppenheimer

Cab Fare

Cab MapThe client agrees to provide cab fare for each bartender or party helper hired that returns her to the Barnard College campus, which is located at 117th and Broadway.

For events outside of Manhattan: the client agrees to provide fare for public transportation to the event, as well as an independent car service that will take each bartender or party helper back to Barnard College at the end of the event.

In addition to ensuring bartender safety, the cab fare policy provides bartenders with an incentive to take jobs that are farther from campus.

If travel time to or from the event exceeds one hour each way, the bartender's payment must include the excess travel time as well, rounded to the next half hour.

Approximate cab fares are shown on the map to the right.

Minimum Payment

Payment must be given for a minimum of three hours.

Payment is rounded to the next half hour.

We ask that payment be rendered using check or cash for each bartender/partyhelper separately at the end of the event.

Tipping

A gratuity of 20% is customary.

The client may tip at her or his own discretion.

**Barnard Departments**

Barnard requires that all Barnard Bartenders working events for your department must be processed through Student Employment via stipend memo. Bartenders cannot be paid through petty cash or a check request.

Because of this change, we will not be able to accommodate any last minute requests. All requests for both bartending and party help must be placed at least two weeks in advance.

Hiring and paying bartenders through TimesheetX means that bartenders are not paid immediately, as is normally done with other bartending jobs they take. To provide incentive and to ensure that bartenders continue to accept departmental jobs, we encourage departments to pay $21/hr + the recommended gratuity of 20%. For holiday jobs, please add an extra $1/hr to each respective rate.

Cancellation Policy

We ask that clients give as much notice as possible for cancellations.

If the Agency has not received notice of a cancellation, and the bartender arrives at the event, the client must reimburse travel expenses for the bartender (s).
